Holiday packing 2020

Hi lovelies,

So we were on a 8 days/ 7 nights holiday in Croatia. dispute the car space we have packed lightly but we did had more than everything. We choosed to in hotels, 3 nights with breakfast,4 with half board. We brought 1 mid-size and a cabin suitcase, a parasol and 2 backpacks(+6 boltles of 1,5l mineral water- than we refilled with tap water). Inside I have fitted my cream crossbody bag and a cooler bag to one of our backpacks for the food and drinks. So how did we travel so light?

I love to pack by category, so to the backpacks we did put food for the travel and a lot of snacks and fruits for the beach to do not waist time with shopping until the 4th day when we do had to travel to our second destination. Of course of money, passports, masks, iPad,phones, documents and my little vanity was also in it.

Cabin-size luggage: was so the beach stuffs: 2 bikinis, 2 shorts, 2 swim shoes, a plaid, 2 sets of travel towels, googles, sunscreens and after sun + magazines , flip-flops and my hubby’s small pillow and Teddy.

Main luggage: is ideal that we can share by half so I have used the KonMari methode to flod all the clothes. I am going to write only my side: I have used pretty much everthing, except my rain coat, linnen jogger and my pullover. I have packed a linnen short with 2 tops, demin skirt, 4 dresses and 2 dresses for the beach- I will just show them in a next post-, sport bra and sport, running shoe and underwears.

Vanity and make-up: as we were stayed in hotels, I have decided not to bring sampoo and shower gel as they are always provided. I have put some conditioner to a travel jar and The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil, along with a comb for my haircare. Omorovicza Cleasing Foam I was so amazed by, it is probably the best gentle cleaner I have ever used, so glad that once I have received a 30ml travel size from them, because I just using it since we got home so in total 3 weeks and still have ca. 75% of it. I have also put some micellar water in a travel jar, and my La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra face and eyecream, which I just got from my sister for my birthday and these are also superb.

I rarely wore makeup on holidays, so I have packed my holy grail Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara in travel size, It Cosmetics CC in Light Medium (my tan shade), Hourglass Ambient Lighting edit-Ghost palette, E.l.f. Instant Lift Brow Pencil in Neutral Brown and a Trend It up Waterproof Eyeliner Pen (not worst the money at all) and some tools: eyelash curler, Smashbox Buildable cheek, Bobbi Brown Face Blender and ABH eye brush which comes with her eye palettes. Unfortunately masks are not friends with lipsticks so I only took those which are always in my small vanity: Camex and a nude.

The (low) Bikini edit

Hi lovelies,

I hope you all well and may be ready for the summer as the pademic periode was so long and might be not over yet. We are planning to go for a holiday despite so many people say us you are so crazy, but I am really stress out and fed up with the whole situation now. Yeah you might say, how she can go for a holiday if she is earning pretty badly: I have saved up for it since last year, I am tracking my spending so much and try to be frugal in a lot of way… and of course I have a husband, whose job did not effected on. Still I think I need to break out of this tepid situation and it might will help to improve my personal life goal, which I am also struggeling for nearly a year now. Unfortunatelly both my career and personal life has stranded so far. Yeah you can ask: why do not you find a new job? Since last August I was subordinated it to my personal goals, as the pademic appeared I tried to move on,but no luck and it made me to be more depressed, which affects on my body evenmore…

So back to the bikini business now, so I am not the kind of bikini person girl I love to get tanned without tanlines, so we always search for nude beaches or just to be able to get topless, but fortunatelly it is not always possible, so I have to keep a few swimsuit too. I wanted to buy a sustainable bikini, but it is a way too expensive, so I have decided to keep my oldies and buy a new from Calzedonia, which was in my June low buy haul.

  • Grey swimsuit with chains on the side from Oysho (2years)
  • Black triangle top with a v-cut and the tie-side brazilian Calzedonia
  • Blue-white striped Calzedonia
  • Yellow Calzedonia

I have left two black bottoms as when I am so pale I feel really uncomfortable in lighter colors. All the bottoms are brazilians if you have not tried them you should I am a fan of them for 8 years and they are the most comfy ones if you do not want more coverage.

I was thinking how many bikinis do I need for a summer holiday? I would say I do not need them at all, but people are more sexualized and not so open-minded so I need a few: 1-2 maybe. So I made a decision to keep my swimsuit as if we go to a Spa or Bath during the colder months, so I will not take it to a summer holiday at all. The black bikini is essential and to have at least an other. To tell you the truth I hate the stripped one’s top, but it was only 2 years so I have kept.

Travelling on business

Hi lovelies,

This is a topic, which I have never written about yet, how to pack and what to bring on a short business trip. I know that there are people how travel more on business than me (unfortunately), but I am coming from Hospitality so I might know a bit better what to bring and what not to bring…

Usually these trips are short, but having a lot of different type of programs with different attires, which makes them hard so you need to plan ahead. And as it is short, your flight tickets only booked with a carry on, if you wish to bring more stuffs you have to pay it from your hardly earn money or form your trip budget, which I always avoid.

This month I was in a hotel-based conference for one night, so what do not pack at all: towels, slippers, tea bags, snacks, soap, maybe the shower gel (however I will, due to environment protection). It is having a fitness, so I will pack my gym stuffs with running shoe.

4E29E0BF-B346-4473-B658-0518595039AE

Things that I will definitely toothbrush- you might think, but you can get it from the hotel- yes it is true, but have you ever tried them? It is a way too strong, cheap quality, which hurts you gum and again it is plastic, so even if I do forget my toothbrush at home, rather going to a nearby pharmacy or drugstore. Asking for a toothbrush in a hotel is = tastelessness in 90 % of the cases. I do bring my cleansing pads and some of the sample creams which I want to try. Of course my makeup case and some brushes:

So clothes are depending on the program and facilities of the hotel. As I was above mentioned I will bring a sport bra, top and leggings. I have to bring a suit: Blazer and a skirt, but due to the program I am going to travel in these with a blouse. For the night I am going to use the same blazer but with a cocktail dress to be ready for the Gala Dinner. Day number 2 is going to be casual: so underwear, jeans, tank top and a pullover is enough.

Shoes are more problemetic now beacuse of the weather, so I have to take a running shoe, boots and pumps too.

Holiday packing

Hi lovelies,

The summer nearly ended… but finally we are going to our holiday. Yeah next year should rather go in the middle of the summer as I feel really tired for a couples of weeks, way too much of works.

Even we are going by car to Croatia and then to the Lake Balaton, I tried to be as minimalistic as can be and do not do over packing. Friday I have checked what we have at home and today we will just buy a couple more things- mainly food. We will stay in a hotel and our reservation is with a half board, so we do not need to cook at all. Insurance, money exchange done, so let’s see whatI have packed:

Face and skincare:

I always keep the little samples, which I receive so it is really useful for travelling, so all the for hair conditioner, the Nivea haarmilch sampoo, Omorovicza cleansing foam and the two Sensodyne toothpastes were free. The empty plastics I received at Hard Rock Café a while ago on a PR event, which two willbe filled with my showergel and one which some more shampoo, from home. I am taking my Ouai Wave spray and try to use up the leave-in conditioner. I will take my correctly used face, eye and body cream, the mosquito spray, deodorant, comb and of course the toothbrush. Only bought the 7 to 3 Lush face cleaner and the two sun protection stuffs for this trip newly.

You might wanna ask: the hotel not providing any amenities? I do not know, but I do not think it is etnical and sustainable. (Yes my simples too , but these are either I am using up or take it to the trash, while in the hotel it can stay for the next guests.)

Makeup:

Waterproof mascara and the liner is a must at the beach, my belowed Tarte Flirt palette is anumber one for travel, now for the summer my new NYX Ultimate palette is nice compliment of it. I try to use up my Essence brow gel, TB concealer, Mac strobe cream, BB Bronzer and of course the Cover FX powder and the Natasha Denona Blush and also the little samples are ideal for travel. The It Cosmetics CC has SPF 50, the BB rouge is red so it is a statement and the Glow spritz I just one to try out a bit more. As for the brushes I am taking a Real Techniques sponge, BB Face -blender, RT setting, MAC 217 and a Zoeva Pencil brush. (not pictured as they are dirty)

Shoes, bags and accessories:

Sandal is a must- brown, pair of sneakers (running of if it is too cold), black -Birkenstock and the swimming shoes for the rocky hills. My new Bag from my Hubby, which is cream, gymbag for the beach (as we bring only sport towels) and a black crossbody for the darker clothes. Necklance for the beach, some hair pins and rubbers and the crop earring.

Clothes:

Probably the most hardest to pack, because women would love to take everything. 8 painties, 3 pairs of socks, 2 bikini tops, 3 bottoms, demin jacket, sport bra and short are easy, but the rest…

Okay convinced: I will travel in my red jumpsuit, black jumpsuit is good for a dating night, this orange dress for an other dressy day, yellow short dress for the beach, linen short and a jeansskirt with 4 more tops.

So only my hubby’s stuffs, manicur and some medical things left, but it is time to shop some snacks…

10 things, which I regret to buy

Hi lovelies,

As you might know I have just started to do a kind of minimalism in my life, which contains a healthier and more experience focused life. In my January post I have promised to share my “Regrets to buys”, so here we go:

  1. Pre-prepared spices and food: these are really unhealthy, expensive and you can do it on your own, why to waste money on them? If I do not have time to cook I rather eat out or order or just eat some fruits or veggies… only one exception: if we are ona ski holiday.
  2. Clothes that does not meets my criteria: if you have read some of my previous posts I did changed my mind like a year ago, so I rather have less and buy quality instead of quantity. I still have to declutter, but my wardrobe nearly reached the perfect status.
    img_0574
  3. Tons of cleaning products: as our flat is relatively small, we do not store up a lot of chemicals, now we only have: toilet cleaner, universal cleaner and a glass cleaner. All of them are ecological!
  4. Wipes: on a daily basis I do not use cleansing, makeup remover or toilette wipes, these are useful for travel but no need at home.wipe
  5. Non-Cruelty free beauty products: I think I do not need to explain, here are my posts in this subject:   MAC alternativesskin careBobbi Brown alternativesGetting cruelty freecaring-consumer
  6. Useless home decor: the nice little things, which do not fit or do not add any value to my home, like: hmgoepprod
  7. An extra one of something: we do only have 2 sets of bed-clothes, one bathroom rug set, 4 kitchen clothes ect. these are enough, do not need more sets of changing.
  8. Washer dryer: I really love the smell of the freshly washed clothes and our flat is so dry so I love to hang them for the night and press them afterwards. Of course it is more environment friendly too.
    dryer
  9. Pens and notebooks: since I am not at school I do not need tons of it and colorfulness- I admit some of them looks so good-, there are always some for free or giveaway with some magazines or get it as a gift.
  10. Takeaway coffee in use-once-only mug: I do not really go for takeaway, but if so I have a really nice Starbucks travel mug, which I usually carry with me.

I know I still have a lot to do in this topic, we ought to act soon as the human living is getting unsustainable and there will nothing left for theupcoming generations… so what are your regrets to buy?

How to book hotel room like a hotelier

A lot of people has been asked me how I am booking hotel rooms as a hotelier… Honestly I hate Airbnb due to the inflexibility of hosts, no treatment and of course the knowledge of the hosts are much more weak than a 4-5 starts hotel concierge.

What you have to know first usually we go for our hotel chain’s employee rate, because it is much more cheaper (ex. in Asia), it is a with breakfast rate, we do have other benefit and of course colleagues are colleagues…

images

Here is my tips and tricks about hotel booking:

  • Consider Hotel room photos like beauty bloggers’ photos on Intagram: light, makeup, Photoshop and best cameras
  • always check the photos at room type also, not just at the top of the page
  • check out the description of the room!!!
  • if you not an early check-out, always book with breakfast – breakfast is much cheaper in package likewise at the front desk we charge 20% more if you book it upon check-in, while in breakfast room we charge 50% more
  • so if you forget your breakfast to book with the room but you loved to have it book it at front desk instead of he restaurant (usually it is a bit cheaper)
  • scroll down for details: what card accepted or usually no more than 1 extra bed can bed fitted in a standard room, but most of OTA like Expedia or Booking can not handle of it
  • comment your preferences: king size/twin beds or child with you, but not all the wishes are upon availability but we tend to fulfill it if we see it in advanced
  • if you are having an anniversary or celebration with it too, you might get some amenities in room
  • read Tripadvisor but do not think it is a Bible most of the satisfied guests do not share their thoughts! Always think whether the writer own opinion is the same as yours…
  • always think about your trip style and try to fit the hotel to it- if you will not spend your time at the hotel room, you do not need a big view
  • make a use of loyalty programmes (hotel or airline)
  • Read terms and conditions: advanced purchase might be a great deal, but only book these rates if you are 100% that you will go (for example: you already have a flight ticket)

I hope my list help you and have a nice travel:)

xoxo

PS.: do not forget to have a travel insurance 🙂

Taste of Thailand

Hi everyone!

Being a concierge made me a gourmet and a foodporn addict, so happily share you my thought on Thai cuisine. Most people says that our Hungarian cuisine is really spicy (of course that though that only goulash and stuffed cabbage is a Hungarian food while we have much more without paprika) they never taste Thai Cuisine, which is hot chili, but I got addicted. Really loved the lots of fresh products of the street, that they do everything in front of us: mixing the ingredients, cooking and roasting just so amazed. Firstly it was really strange that they do not cut just break the vegetables, or cut with a hatchet, but then we got used to it. We always tried to find a place with plenty of people. But here tells our photos. (Try to explain) It is not all that we ate and honestly we were so European in breakfast choices 🙂

Most of the photos made by iPhone SE with Foodie app. Enjoy the photos and check out My packing

What we bought in Thailand

Hi everyone!

Thailand is a shopping paradise, but also a culinary heaven, so we did most for our gourmet taste and less for shopping and also spent most of our pocket-money on travel:).

So markets and street foods are relatively cheap there, international brands are rather expensive. That is the cause I did not purchased anything at Sephora there, it was 30-40% more expensive than in Europe and also so dirty and lack of selection, so  My Sephora wishlist still on due but might will order them from brand websites…

Clothes at markets are really cheap, specially if you bargain. You can spend a whole day doing that, but the clothes are the same what you can order from asian websites  like aliexpress or shein. So did not wasted our time and travel weight on it. Only bought and elephant trousers which is rather touristic item, but linen and 3 scarves as gifts.

We did bought some local products like coconut oil, teas and tiger balm. Some postcards, beer fridge or holder (or I do not know what it is just they do serve beer in it), magnets (15)as for souvenirs. Dry durians! we did not try it on spot, because it was prohibited due to its smell at hotels, transportation and at Bangkok Chinatown we felt its smell uff… so we left it for the last day and did not find it in Kata, Phuket.

And a lots of products from 7eleven, most of them just unknown for us, but they do like chocolates with green tea, alga snack, sweets, sauces and instant soups ect.

At duty-free Phuket the following sweets:

Duty free Doha:

  • cigarettes my husband smokes unfortunately and it was a way cheaper than at home – he does not know that he will have a quitting therapy soon:)
  • Clinique BB cream (really like it and my Bobbi Brown one will over soon)
  • perfumes: Chanel: Gabrielle (got from my hubby) and a men’s Paco Rabbane

If you are interested in my packing list please read my previous post and stay turned!

My ultimate packing list for Thailand

Hi everyone!

We have just arrived from our honeymoon, we sent 2 weeks in Thailand. Honestly, my packing was simply perfect: not over packed (18kg only from 30), had items for every occasions, so no extra purchase due to weather conditions or religious regulations. Read my packing list and hacks/tips by categories below:

Skin and hair care

This is my number 1 tip to keep the samples and make a use of them during your travel! Even thought hotels do provide toiletries, but the quality might not meets your expectations. Samples I brought: Mac lipscrub, Clinique: Prep start (15ml!) moisturizer, conditioners from Palette hair dye(from my sis), mini perfumes and shower gel (75ml!) which I have received from previous purchases at Douglas (like Sephora), small body lotion(60ml) from Body Shop box, Bobbi Brown oily make-up remover.

  • eye cream by Yves Rocher
  • 2 suncreams from Sundance (spf 30 and 25)
  • Aloe vera aftersun by Sundance
  • Nivea micellar wipes (25)
  • Zewa wet toilet paper (42)
  • box of Tampax
  • Tissue mask by Balea
  • Body Shop’s Wild Argan oil
  • toothpaste and toothbrush

Make-up:

At tropical weather you do not need so much of make-ups but a bit of course. For everyday I only used my Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Waterproof version in travel size as my lashes are blondes… for day trips I was made a use of Bobbi Brown’s BB (fair shade) as it has spf 35, my Blonde BB brow pencil and L’Oreál  Perfect Slim liner, BB Sandwash Pink Lipcolor and used blocking film  paper instead of powder.

As for night outs was a bit more:

Eyes: MAC quarto of Brule, Naked Lunch, Girlie and Haux and BB Long-Wear Cream Shadow stick in Pink Sparkle

Face: MAC: Prep+Prime Transparent Finish Powder, Nars: Orgasm Blush, BB: Pale Pink cream blush, The Balm: Mary-Lou Manizer, BB: Bronzing Powder-Stonestreet, Maybelline:The Eraser Eye Concealer and BB: Foundation Stick (Beige)

Hacks: used ca. 5-6 beauty cases for makeup, skinhair, medical and electronic items like chargers.

If you are interest in make up check my previous post of LipsticksMy favMy hates

Shoes: flip-flops for the beach, swimshoe, my beloved Steve Madden Irine Black heeled sandal (for nights), my go to Vans Athentic and running shoe (for travel and training)- as you see these all blacks ex. my Nike just to be easier to get dressed.

Bags: Longchamp Le Pliage Shooping Bag in Navy (What I got for Christmas)and a Black leather Petrity crossbody

Clothes:

It was really strange checking my summer clothes in the middle of winter, so most of the clothes was already existed in my wardrobe. As for bikinis and swimsuits I tried to bring those which perfectly mixed together and finally I did not used my swimsuit…

I tried to bring clothes from natural fabrics like linen or cotton. I try to list and post some photos of them:

  • 2 dress for the beach
  • 3 shorts
  • 2 skirts
  • red evening dress for Lebua
  • yellow linen summer dress
  • 3 long Shirts
  • long linen trousers

  • 2 bras
  • sport bra, top and short

Hacks: as we had 3 hotels, so I tried to pack to be no need to unpack all the time, so folding the clothes 4 times to be able to see them and used IKEA ISTAD bags to save space in our bags.
